CHRIST AT THE CENTER. FAMILY IN SERVICE. CLARKSVILLE AT HEART.

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

Making families stronger.
Starting close to home.

The Whitby Foundation is a Christ-centered nonprofit serving families and our city through biblical care, Christian coaching, practical teaching, and local acts of service. We exist to strengthen what God has entrusted to families and help that strength become a blessing beyond them.

WHY WE EXIST

Strong families can become a source of strength for others.

The Foundation grew from a simple conviction: what God builds in a family should not stop with that family. Faith, hard-won wisdom, resources, time, and hospitality can all be turned outward in service.

That is why our work is not built around a single program. We care about the whole ecosystem around family life—truthful relationships, wise care, spiritual formation, practical support, and a community where families can both receive help and become people who help.

We are not trying to build a brand around family. We are trying to build a ministry that helps families become more faithful, stable, generous, and rooted in Christ.

WHAT GUIDES OUR WORK

Three convictions shape everything we do.

These are not separate programs. They are the lens through which we decide what belongs in the Foundation and how we want to serve.

01 · CHRIST AT THE CENTER

Faith is the foundation, not an accent.

Scripture shapes our view of marriage, family, care, stewardship, dignity, repentance, hope, and service. We want Christ to govern both what we offer and the spirit in which we offer it.

02 · FAMILY IN SERVICE

Strength is meant to move outward.

We believe healthy family life should produce generosity rather than insulation. The goal is not simply stronger households, but households increasingly able to love, serve, give, welcome, and bear burdens well.

03 · CLARKSVILLE AT HEART

Local need deserves local presence.

We are rooted in Clarksville. We want to know the city, serve real people, work alongside churches and community partners, and let our ministry remain close enough to see the people behind the need.

HOW WE WANT TO SERVE

Useful, grounded, and personal.

We do not want to duplicate what every church, counselor, nonprofit, or social-service organization already does. Our aim is to serve in the places where our convictions, resources, relationships, and local presence can genuinely add value.

Scripture before trend.

Our teaching and care should be traceable to the Bible rather than built around whatever language is most fashionable at the moment.

Dignity before dependency.

Help should strengthen people where possible—not make the Foundation the center of someone else’s life or replace responsibilities that belong elsewhere.

Truth with compassion.

Care should neither shame people nor hide what is real. We want mercy and honesty to remain together.

Partnership over duplication.

When a church, clinician, agency, or local organization is better equipped for a need, faithful service may mean connecting people rather than trying to become everything.

ROOTED HERE

Clarksville is not our market.
It is our community.

The Foundation is intentionally local. We want our work to stay connected to the churches, neighborhoods, families, needs, and opportunities around us—not become so broad that the people closest to us disappear into a mission statement.

The Foundation began with a family—but it is meant to serve beyond ours.
